The Back Story Behind the Scenes

The idea of the Follow Drip for Coaches platform was born out of a fateful membership launch from our kitchen table. A few years ago, my wife embarked on her inaugural membership program. Armed with a powerful message and the promise of transformation, she was poised to change lives. I shared her excitement as she stepped into this new venture.

The launch was strategically planned for a Monday morning, coinciding with a Family Day long weekend that also included Valentine’s Day. We envisioned a romantic Friday night dinner, but technology had other plans. Glitches and complexities emerged, leaving us ensnared in a bewildering web of tech woes and failed Stripe connections. Undeterred, we deferred our Friday night plans, hoping to resolve the issues by Saturday. Yet, Saturday came and went, and Sunday brought no relief.

Bleary-eyed and disheveled, I worked tirelessly through the night. Finally, as dawn approached on Monday, I hit the publish button, and fell into bed, victorious but exhausted. The celebration was short-lived. My wife’s phone began to buzz with messages from eager customers who couldn’t get the membership link to work. Our grand launch (and our romantic Valentine’s dinner) remained postponed, casualties of the administration-technology tango.

About the Couple behind the
the Follow Drip for Coaches platform

We both left successful careers to put our talents together in our coaching business. We didn't set out to start a software company, however, as we worked with small business owner we discovered their struggle to use and leverage technology to help streamline their business processes. We access to some software we were using in our business, and then extended the offer to help them. This was the birth of what brought us to where we are today.

With that said, it has not been an easy road and eventually we graduated from operating from the kitchen table.

Reflecting back to this experience, ignited my passion to create a solution to the dilemmas coaches face. These experiences revealed a common struggle faced by many, and we knew it was time to address it head-on.

We created the Follow Drip for Coaches platform to assist coaches in navigating technical and administrative challenges, enabling them to focus on what they excel at: making a difference in their clients' lives.

we have completely different styles . . .

We have completely different styles that sometime clash but do complement each other. In our couple of years of marriage when we were still in the googly eye stage, we found it amusing that according to our DISC profiles were the we were the least suited relationally and as working partners.

So what did we do? We left our successful careers and decided to start a business.

In the D.I.S.C behavioral style model, Garth identifies and functions as a D / I while Melanie identifies and functions as a C / S. When we function in unity we are an unstoppable team and force to be reckoned with.

With our diverse mix of skills, qualifications and experience, we approached the creation of the platform from 2 perspectives and and 2 different angles.

As a Certified John Maxwell Coach, Garth has worked with clients across a variety of industries and brings nearly a decade of experience in automobile sales, specializing in internet sales. He has developed CRM software solutions designed to serve small businesses & Body-Liner dealers.

Garth is an active member of the coaching community and has served with and for a number of community-based entrepreneur programs.

MELANIE MITCHELL-EPP

Melanie is a mentor/coach, author, speaker and CPA, CGA with 25 years of experience in public practice and the non-profit sector. She is not only proficient with numbers but also HR, team building, and business strategy & implementation.

She is passionate about engaging the unrealized potential in people’s lives! Melanie loves learning and constantly pursues growth in herself to produce wisdom and strategy and understanding.

You might say he had me at hello. He was tall, dark and handsome, and I liked his shoes, but what really connected us might surprise you. It was the fact that we had both lived through the challenges of lives that didn’t go as planned. We knew what it was like to have broken hearts, broken families, and broken dreams, and what it took to pick up the broken pieces and get on with life.

Some people don’t make it through those kinds of challenges; they let life break them. But both of us had individually faced the harsh realities of divorce and what it was like not to be able to raise our kids. We both kept going when it seemed that all hope was lost, and we shared a faith that was the foundation of our choices to overcome. We had become whole again as individuals, we had rebuilt relationships and finances, and we had learned how to dream again.

So, when we met for the first time at a coffee shop on a blind date, our conversation was shockingly direct. If you had been at the next table, you would have overheard Garth tell me that he had two kids who were 9 and 12 at the time and ask me if I was ok with being a step-mom. And in response, you would have heard me tell him that I had a son who was married and that it was very possible that he and his wife would have kids before long, and ask him if he was ok with being a grandpa. He was a little more surprised by my question that I was by his.

We were both coming to the table knowing who we were, and with nothing to hide, and having paid a high enough price for wholeness that we weren’t about to waste time with someone who wasn’t like-minded. We were both seeking authenticity and commitment and if that wasn’t there, we weren’t about to waste each other’s time.

So, coffee happened in January and wedding bells rang in June, bringing us together from two very different backgrounds with a common desire for authenticity, purpose, and a desire to make a difference for others. We committed to one another and to pursuing purpose in our marriage.

Six years later, we know each other much better and have spent a lot of time investing our wisdom and experience into the lives of others. We have completely different styles that complement each other, and we love working together impacting others. We are experts in overcoming challenges, sparking possibility, igniting creativity, and unleashing potential. Our vision is to see people pursue and realize their full potential. We have a passion to see Your Limits Lifted, and are creative and skillful at not only teaching, but leading people in an experiential way that makes change happen.
